ABOUT LINNEA
Linnea Miner Mott is a soprano celebrated for her agile coloratura and expressive stage presence. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Vocal Performance at Utah State University, studying under the guidance of Grammy Award–winning Thomas Glenn, and is anticipated to graduate in May 2026. She recently captivated audiences as Lucia in Utah State University Opera’s production of Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia and will bring her dazzling technique to the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Lyrical Opera Theater in February 2026.
A graduate of Utah Valley University (B.M., Classical Vocal Performance), Linnea studied privately with renowned soprano Dr. Melissa Heath and served as soprano section leader for the UVU Chamber Choir under Dr. Reed Criddle for five years, gaining extensive operatic and ensemble experience under the direction of Dr. Isaac Hurtado. She has also appeared multiple times as a featured soloist with the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra under the baton of Dr. Craig Jessop, earning recognition for her expressive musicality and technical precision.
Her operatic repertoire spans a wide range of roles, including:
· Olympia in UVU Opera’s Les contes d’Hoffmann
· Musetta in UVU Opera’s La Bohème
· Eurydice in UVAA’s Orpheus in the Underworld
· Cecily in UVU Opera’s U.S. debut of The Importance of Being Earnest
In addition to her performing career, Linnea is passionate about cultivating the next generation of singers through her private voice studio in Providence, Utah, where she teaches students of all ages and levels, with openings available January 2026.
Outside of music, Linnea enjoys cycling, traveling, attending local musical theater and opera performances, and cherishing time with her family. She is deeply grateful to her supportive husband, Jonny, for his unwavering encouragement in all her endeavors.
