La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini - Role of Musetta

Utah Valley University Opera

Jan 28, 2022

“Linnea’s sweet, silvery soprano voice delighted the audience as she brought nuance to the sometimes one-dimensionally portrayed Musetta. She charmed with her sparkling stage presence and refined acting. I’m excited to watch her career blossom.”
- Dr. Melissa Heath, Associate Chair at Utah Valley University

Amidst the continuing effects of the COVID pandemic, I was privileged to have been able to perform the promiscuous yet caring, flirtatious yet feisty, and affluent yet generous Musetta in Utah Valley University's production of Puccini's La Bohème. Being one of the most well-known and well-loved operas in history, I took the responsibility serisouly to portray Musetta how the composer, Puccini depicted her through gorgeous melodies and heart-breaking themes. Through the rehearsal and performance processes I worked closely with a professional cast that included Marina Costa-Jackson, Dr. Isaac Hurtado, Dr. Melissa Heath, and Matt August as the Broadway-known director.
