Preparing to Reign: The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute
This February, I’m thrilled to be performing the role of the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute with Lyrical Opera Theater. It’s one of opera’s most iconic and demanding roles — full of drama, dazzling coloratura, and fiery intensity.
Preparing this role has been both exhilarating and humbling. The Queen’s famous arias, with their soaring high notes and emotional power, challenge every part of a singer’s technique and artistry. But more than just the technical fireworks, I’ve loved exploring her complexity — a woman consumed by vengeance, yet driven by love for her daughter.
Each rehearsal so far has deepened my appreciation for Mozart’s brilliance and for the way his music captures both the grandeur and humanity of his characters. My goal is to honor that legacy and bring the Queen to life with honesty, strength, and a touch of mystery.
Performances will take place at the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center (2525 W. Taylorsville Road, Taylorsville, UT) on:📅 February 14, 18, and 20 at 7:00 PM, and February 22, 2026 at 3:00 PM.
It’s a true privilege to take on such an unforgettable role, and I can’t wait to share this magical story with audiences soon.
🎶✨ Long live the Queen!
